Who Am I?

I’m sure you’re wondering why an average “Joe” like me (also best man to my friend’s wedding) would take the time to create a blog on my experiences with preparing my best man wedding speeches and toasts.  Well, let me tell you my reasoning here.

For those who are not professional speakers (I think we’re talking about most of us here),  it is easy to get freaked out over having to give a wedding speech and toast.   I was one of those guys and obviously very worried about making a fool of myself.  This is never good for the image and didn’t want to be remembered as the  “jerk” who embarrassed the bride or groom.

I know that I didn’t have what it takes to “wing it” and wanted to give it some serious thought about what to say in my best man speech  – but where to start?  I decided it was time to take some serious action and look for any helpful advice and resources that would make this speech writing process easier.

After talking to some of my friends who had already been in this position of being best man, it was obvious that I wasn’t alone in stressing out over my wedding speech.

The good news was that one of my buddies turned me on to a helpful resource that really put it all in perspective for me and made preparation of my best man wedding speeches a non-issue!

Being so grateful for the help, I thought I would pass it on to other best men who found themselves in the same predicament that I was in.  My hope was that this small blog could help other guys avoid the stress and hassle that come with writing and presenting speeches, especially best man wedding speeches.
